S01C1 He Is Talking, Are You Listening?

This course is comprised of an in-depth study of the five major reasons many people have difficulty hearing the voice of God. The problem is never that God is not speaking. He is always speaking. The problem is with the interference. As you will learn in this course, there are very effective ways to deal with the interference. This is not only good news, it is essential to Christian Living. Before you begin this study, take a few moments to consider what you really believe God thinks of you. Trust me. He has a much higher opinion of you than you do of yourself. Yes, there are egotistical people for whom this would not seem to be true. But then consider an inflated ego is nothing more than a camouflage for insecurity. This is not a course in Psychology. But it does get real about our relationship with the Holy Spirit.

S01C2 Holy Ghost Fire Through The Ages - Semester 1

This course traces the history of the operation of the Holy Spirit from the Day of Pentecost until the year 1900. Many books have been published on this subject. However, in most cases the doctrinal position of the authors often has caused them to skip over certain wonderful facts which they may have found inconvenient. Would it surprise you to know that many of the currently very liberal denominations were at one time the driving force behind great revivals? Speaking in tongues, and healing, and miracles were once common among groups of people who now mock the Pentecostal experience. It is well documented that some of the best known individuals in Protestant Church History were often used in the Gifts of the Spirit. The wonderful truth is that our history as Pentecostals is traceable.

S01C3 The Person Of The Holy Spirit

The Scriptures are very clear about the fact the Holy Spirit is a person. However, he is not spoken of in an anthropomorphic way in the Bible. That is to say the Holy Spirit is not described in terms of the human body. Thus we do not typically think of the Holy Spirit as having human characteristics. There is a very good reason for this. The Holy Spirit lives in us. In 1 Corinthians 6:19 (ESV) Paul has asked the question, "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God?" Embracing the concept that the Holy Spirit is a person and not an "it" helps us to understand how He functions in our lives. He becomes more real and more relatable. The instructor of this course spends a great deal of time discussing the various Scriptures on which these truths are based. Your view of the Holy Spirit will be greatly enhanced.

S02C1 The Ways God Speaks

Because they have not been taught otherwise, most Christians only expect to hear a voice when the Holy Spirit speaks to them. Granted, the Holy Spirit does speak to us with words. But there is even greater evidence He will use other methods of communication. We know this to be true because we have these insightful words from Jesus found in John 16:13. "Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come." The Holy Spirit is a guide. A guide will show you things. Consider that in the light of the prophecy from Joel concerning God pouring out His Spirit upon all the earth. One of His major responsibilities is to give us insight and to reveal things to us. We will explore some of these methods of non-verbal communication in this course.

S02C2 Holy Ghost Fire Through The Ages - Semester 2

On January 1, 1901, the Holy Spirit began to move on this earth in a manner not seen since the Day of Pentecost. A small group of students were studying the Book of Acts, and the Holy Ghost began to teach them what few men had understood in the previous 1900 years. God always responds to those who hunger and thirst after righteousness. Today, the largest group of Christians in the world is Spirit-filled, tongue-talking Christians. Their number exceeds 700,000,000. In the next few years, that number will be well into the billions. Aren't you glad you are one of them? If you are not, hearing the things that will be taught in this course will certainly cause you to want more. You will hear of signs, wonders, and miracles as God has worked through men and women in days gone by. The Holy Spirit has done many exciting things in the past, but many more are sure to come.

S02C3 Praying In The Holy Ghost

At the beginning of the 20th Century, most of the praying was done through man's own understanding. When the Holy Ghost began to respond to the prayers of the students in Kansas and the first groups of people at Azusa Street, He was not responding to people who were "Praying In The Holy Ghost." How can we be so sure? A person can't pray in the Holy Ghost until they receive the Holy Ghost. It is only at this time that a person can speak in tongues. But what is the real purpose of speaking in tongues? We know it is much more than this being the evidence that a person has received the Holy Spirit. Here is a small clue about the content of this course. When we pray in tongues, we are praying according to the perfect will of God. Give some thought to what the difference could be as the Holy Ghost responds to people who are not limited by their own understanding.
